• A brief HISTORY OF THE GROUP, written in 1997 by Derrick Porter for inclusion in 'A History of the Analytical Division of the Royal Society of Chemistry', written and edited by Professor J.D.R. Thomas, and published in 1999 by the Royal Society of Chemistry (ISBN 0-85404-449-3).
  
  
• A brief HISTORY OF THE LIMS CONFERENCE written in 1997 by Dr Alan McLelland. The AAMG has organised biennial international LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) conferences since 1987.
  
  
• The Group CHANGED ITS NAME - in 1999 from the Automatic Methods Group to the Automation and Analytical Management Group. This documents outlines the rationale for the change of name.
